My experience as a musician, singer-songwriter, and poet informs the services I offer as a death doula. I’m personally familiar with the artistic exploration of death and grief, and I’m passionate about others experiencing its supportive powers. During times of transitional life changes, we often crave ways to find and express meaning. Additionally, confronting mortality — be it our own or others — can be a catalyst to invest in the concept of legacy.

Part of my services include helping clients develop legacy projects… which can be: as simple as compiling recipes of favored meals to create a special cookbook, as intricate as an archive of audio recordings that recount precious memories in a client’s own voice, and as influential as an ethical will (a document that passes along guiding values and life lessons, as opposed to assets and property — and sometimes explains intentions behind decisions made in a legal will to cushion the potential confusion of survivors); above all, legacy projects create a unique and lasting memento for a client’s beloved community.

In addition to legacy project development, I’m available for:

  • bedside artistic presence (including musical performances or reading aloud for a client)

  • playlist curation in preparation for an active dying process

  • memorial performances

  • commissions to compose an original song or poem that will capture the essence of a client
